Know what you're thinking and feeling as you're doing it!

Its come to my attention how often myself and others are lost in thought and feeling so much they become overwhelmed and unable to cope, without knowing just what they're up against. Regular meditation and mindfulness allows us to gain the necessary distance and step into the observer role and out of the swamp that we so easily sink into. The more you can label the kind of thoughts you are having (eg I'm ruminating on the past, I'm forecasting about the future, i'm unpacking today's conversations AGAIN even though its not serving me well etc) and the kind of feelings you're having (whittle them down to as specific as you can!) THE MORE SAY YOU HAVE OVER WHAT TO DO WITH THEM. Don't be afraid of your thoughts and feelings, be CURIOUS (:
